10/12/08 - Just posted some new pics.  Today was our first day of any real snow.  There's some new shots of the horses, the dog, and of course, the truck, under a blanket of snow.  Drove it to church this morning, just so I could see how the 4x4 handles the icy roads.  It did great.  Took awhile for it to get warmed up, not like the old ford.  I discovered that if I turn on the Jake Brake while going down the hill to town, it warms up really quick.

I took Thursday and Friday off last week.  Took the time to get some things done around the house before the evil white stuff started falling.  Just in time, I got the skirt around the addition on the house put up, and the water pipe to the corral insulated.

I've got tomorrow off because I'm kind of a govt employee.  How cool is that, take two days off and leave the office for five.  Looking forward to getting back to work on Tuesday.

Also, it may be time to retire the old pickup.  Still looks good, still runs good, but I’m afraid that it just can’t handle the load of possibly having to move the horses and everything else we’ll be asking it to do.  There’s also the fact that it’s got almost 200,000 miles on it, and we don’t want it to be forced into replacing it when it’s inconvenient.
